"Survivor Smacked Me in the Chops" - Episode One Recap

 16/10/2012 11:44:00 AM, Prev Next Hello Jeff Probst and hello The Philippines. It’s here that 15 contestants already divided into three tribes prepare for the adventure of a lifetime. Survivor is the most thrilling adventure of a lifetime. It’s also the most dangerous. Over 24 seasons, many of those who started the game were unable to finish – pulled from the game with one question on their minds: “What would have been”.

And with that we meet our three returnees.

  • Russell (Survivor: Samoa): who says he is “smacking back”
  • Jonathon (Survivor: Fans vs Favourites): who says he is on fire this season!
  • Michael (Survivor: The Australian Outback): who just loves the fact that he gets to come back and do it again

Will the veterans have what it takes to be the Sole Survivor or will it be a new castaway to emerge and claim the million dollar prize?

#Introductions
No beach introductions this season as Jeff boards the castaways’ boat and behind the humble welcomes. Frankenstein Tattooed, Zane explains that he hopes there are no returning players and definitely hopes there are no celebrities.

Jeff then announces that the tribes now have 60 seconds to collect as many items from the boat as possible. It’s chaos!

In a season that is about injured players getting a second chance – less than two minutes into the game, Pro-Baseballer Jeff has injured his knee.

#Day 1

Matsing
Russell says there are no leaders, then immediately starts leading the tribe. Together Russell and Malcolm start a fire. #SurvivorRecord?

Kalabaw
Jeff is still struggling but does his best to pass it off. Veteran, Jonathon takes on the role of leader as the rest of the tribe conspire against him. Despite Jeff not revealing his secret identity, Dawson knows exactly who he is – information she’ll use when it becomes valuable for her.

Tandang
Instant friendships lead to instant alliances, much to the confusion of Michael – “three minute people move fast!”. RC is hiding the fact that she is a banker. Pete says that Abi wants to jump his bones.

#Day2

Matsing
Licenced Sex Therapist, Denise is analysing Zane. Zane forms an alliance with everyone – a move he is proud of, but definitely a move we have seen before. Malcolm see’s right through Zane’s plan. Meanwhile Russell finds a Hidden Immunity clue, but is later busted by Zane who confronts him.

#ImmunityChallenge
Classic dig, obstacle and puzzle challenge. Two tribes will win Immunity and a fire-making kit.

Matsing tribe are off to Tribal Council.

Back at camp, Russell attempts a pet talks. Zane throws himself under the bus and the tribe feels that tonight’s decision will be easy.

Matsing vote out Zane 5 votes to 1. Zane claims his moves were the greatest in Survivor History. No, we’ve seen that before too.

The tribe has spoken.

For too long Channel 9 have dismissed the wishes of loyal fans of survivor. Who wants to watch repeat after repeat of people drink driving. Show us some respect please.
Like so many other loyal Survivor fans I am disappointed with Channel 9... not only did I miss the first 4 episodes... who knew it was on!!! I thought I would be able to catch up on GO.... but no. Does anyone know where I can watch the first 4 episodes. 10.30 pm is way too late for me also. I like the Sat or Sun catch up.
Thumbs down channel nine!! 10.30pm is too late for we workers and with no repeats of Survivor on GO there is no chance of seeing this series. Clearly no one at channel nine cares so I'll be tuning out completely and watching my pay TV only from now on.
I always watch survivor on-line and now I have discovered that I can't. The time of 10 30pm is too late so it means I don't get to watch this season...can you please reclify this ASAP!
Please put the episodes up online channel 9
Besides to being able to catch up on aired episodes, I can't even find on this site when it wills screen. Survivor fans are loyal addicts but not if we can't find the eps or catch ups.
It is ridiculous if I forget to set the timer or I do try to record it and it cuts out there is no other option. I have not missed a series except for the one that boston rob was in as it did not air here. Get off your backsides 9 and give it the respect it deserves. It has made you enough money in the past. Be warned Survivor Fans do not go away they just get MAD!!
I concur with all the previous comments. Yet we only get silence from Channel nine. We at least deserve an answer to our questions??? Wake up Channel Nine???? Listen to your viewers and you too might survive...
I've given up trying to watch Survivor on TV, channel 9 isn't giving it the love it deserves. If you want to watch it online (which is difficult since channel 9 doesn't make it available) check out ch131.so , they put the episodes up as soon as the finish airing in the US, and are of excellent quality. They're up to episode six, and it's shaping up to be a great season!
Why is it you can watch repeats of Big Brother as much as you like but not other shows like Survivor!!! Very unfair!!
