Peter Phelps (Joe Messina)

Peter Phelps is one of Australia's busiest and best-known actors. He has appeared in dozens of film, television and theatre productions; spent four years in the US; written a best-selling book,Sex Without Madonna: True confessions of a hired gun in Tinseltown (a wry look at his years in Hollywood); and won an AFI Television Best Actor Award for his portrayal of a male rape victim in an episode of GP.

Peter was rewarded for his work on Stingers with two Silver Logie nominations. He won the award in 2002. He was Abo Henry in ABC TV's chilling Blue Murder, Les Darcy in The Darcy Story, and Mick Webb in One Way Ticket, a telemovie inspired by a 1993 jailbreak.

He played opposite Jason Donovan in the movie Rough Diamonds, and with Judd Nelson, in the telemovie Blackwater Trail. Peter also featured as a lead in the third telemovie of Small Claims on Network Ten and starred as Dr Doug "Spence" Spencer in the television seriesAll Saints for Channel Seven.

He was the lead in the Australian feature films Teesh and Trude, Zone 39, The Lighthorsemen, and Playing Beatie Bow. Peter also featured in Footy Legends, Ned Kelly and the critically acclaimed Lantana.

On television, Peter was a series regular on Fire, The Flying Doctors, and Baywatch. His extensive guest credits include Police Rescue, Heartbreak High, A Country Practice, Rafferty's Rules, and Water Rats.

In 2007 and 2008, Peter directed episodes of All Saints and Home and Away for Channel Seven; guest-starred on the TV series Chandon Pictures for Foxtel and ABC; starred in the Edinburgh Festival hit theatre show Beyond a Reasonable Doubt and worked on three Australian feature films, The Square, To Hell and Back, and Locked In.
