Underbelly finale — 'The loved ones'

In the grand finale of Underbelly, Chris "Mr Rent-a-Kill" Flannery becomes a victim of his own success. But who would dare order a hit on Australia's most dangerous hit man? Colourful racing identity George Freeman takes extreme measures to wipe out the competition. The Australian Federal Police race against time to capture "Aussie" Bob Trimbole, from his hideouts in Ireland and Spain. Police finally solve the 1976 murder of Griffith anti-drugs campaigner Donald Mackay, the crime that triggered the war on drugs and corruption.

Chris "Mr Rent-a-Kill" Flannery is the most dangerous and volatile man in Australia, hands down. His abilities as a hit man are beyond doubt, but his wild ways are starting to make people nervous. In particular, the corrupt NSW detectives are concerned that Chris has become a loose cannon and a destabilising force on the underworld. They call upon crime king George Freeman to keep Chris under control. After using Chris to help take care of some of his own "loose ends", Freeman takes it upon himself to eradicate "Mr Rent-a-Kill" with a little help from his friends.

With Terry Clark serving a life sentence for murder in the UK, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) has shifted its focus on catching Bob Trimbole.

"Aussie" Bob is currently on the run in Europe, battling with life-threatening prostate cancer and trying to keep his various criminal activities bubbling along. He is determined to provide for his family before cancer catches up with him.

As part of its strategy to flush out Bob Trimbole, the AFP endeavours to cut off his cash flow, which means tracking Nick Paltos' seven-tonne hash shipment. If they nab Paltos, they might extract Trimbole's whereabouts and pin down the major profit takers who bankrolled the whole deal, including certain elements of the Sydney Criminal Investigation Bureau.

But time is running out for Trimbole. Hounded by the AFP, tormented by guilt, and trapped in a foreign hospital, Trimbole's life is unravelling fast. There will be no happy ending for "Aussie" Bob.

The AFP has much to celebrate. Both Terry Clark and Bob Trimbole are now off the scene — for good. They have finally solved the murder of Griffith anti-drugs campaigner Donald Mackay and provided justice for his widow Barbara. They have unmasked the webs of corruption that poisoned the justice system, particularly in NSW.

But the cancer of corruption and organised crime is resilient. And the criminals who profit from it are always looking for new ways to reinvent themselves.

Can't view any of my downloaded episodes now which is a total contradiction of what was originally stated. Have wasted heaps of download usage for what seems like nothing. Does anybody else believe that this a total scam??? Surely there is an Ombudsmen similiar to the Banking Industry to talk to about this blatant breach of consumer trust!!!
well done channel nine for letting me watch the whole series then not repeating the finale episode which i missed, after you repeated all the others.
channel 9 get your finger out and play it again some people are busy and there is no chance to watch it so please play it again i miss it
Come on Chan 9 NBN 3 where is the last episode Underbelly. I have been on holidays interstate for the past few weeks, and was hoping to watch it. Reading all the other comments, I think there are an aweful lot of people out there that you have let down. I did not see a disclaimer on your web site advising it would not be available. I wont be buying the DVD, I'll just wait and see if a copy turns up somewhere. Come on 9 get your act together
When are you going to respond to your very UNHAPPY VIEWERS, I am sure that this is just a try to get sales up of the full DVD however it is breaking your promise for the episode to be a free download from your site. You are going to the BOTTOM OF THE LIST of MY preferred TV channels - whatsmore I am sure that I am not alone on this one.
I am just adding my protest to all the others. I am changing channels. There is no excuse for preventing viewers from watching the last episodes they downloaded with the promise that they could view it time and again. If you want to upset your loyal viewers this is certainly the way to do it. Shame on you.
where can I get access to the last epp of underbelly 2?? and also what is the go with hiro codec no longer beeing supported .... no thing but wasted bandwidth imagine the cost to all those people who pay per mb just to turn around and loose 10 gig of bandwidth beacuse Channel nine screwed them... I think either channel 9 should provide full access to the epps or the people who downloaded them **it is one thing to download and watch any time you want but it is wrong to offer the download and say you can watch it at any time and find out that is not true ... ***
I too am totally frustrated in downloading Hiro and not being able to see the final episode. Maybe Nine think that by preventing viewers from downloading the final episode they will go and buy the DVD so they can see it.Please be advised that this is one viewer who will NOT buy the DVD. Please take note of the vcomments of all the viewers who help you to acheive your ratings. Come on Nine, support your viewers and give them an Aussie "fair go".
I have the same problem, Rich people own the company, IT Manager guy probably been told to use Hiro even though he diddnt want to, Everyone is screwed !!! Good one Channel nine, Im changing the channel.
why are the underbelly episodes no listed in the catch up tv section. I am dissapointed to not be able to view the final episode. I think that it should be reposted ASAP. You must be able to see that there are a lot of angry and upset viewers, so how about it!!!!!
