The Mentalist
: Season Two
Length:
60 min
Genre:
Returning Crime Drama
Episodes:
13
Premieres: Monday September 28th 2009 8.30pm
Starring Australia’s Simon Baker, this crime drama centres on Patrick Jane, a well-known former television psychic who, after being exposed as a fraud, uses his very real abilities as a mentalist to help the California Bureau of Investigation solve crimes.
As a mentalist, Jane uses his highly developed skills of observation, deduction and manipulation to aid the Serious Crimes unit.
He is a charismatic, edgy, modern day Sherlock Holmes whose controversial methods often cross the line, but, ultimately, prove him right.
The new series starts with a woman who apparently stole a million dollars from her employer is found suffocated. Lisbon and Jane can only watch as the Red John case is taken away from them by Sam Bosco.

Please Channel 9 - I'm in withdrawal, when are you bringing back The Mentalist?
I am a fan of the mentalist. I am however disappointed that the clips shown in the ads for the mentalist are shown throughout the day and are usually unpleasant for younger children. How is it that there are regulations on when a program can be shown but the ads for that program can contain the scariest parts and be shown at any time during the day. I have a 4 year old daughter who was terrified of the ad about the clowns recently aired for the mentalist. Every time the ad came on my daughter would hide from the t.v. and she was coming in to our room at night due to having nightmares about the scary clowns. There is only so much a parent can do to control what their children see on t.v. When the ads show the horrors of adult movies at all times the only option left is to prevent my children from watching any t.v. at all and I am sure you agree this is not appropriate. I ask that you please consider who is viewing these ads.
You replace the Mentalist with Baby faced killer Carl??? - who else would view this one hour of hashed rubbish but Channel Nine. Poor form Channel 9, not only do you stuff up the "new episodes" promotion by putting a repeat on of Mentalist you ditch one of your best programs of the week for Carl Williams - you've lost a viewer here, I'm getting the Mentalist out on DVD... *** supporting any channel 9 programs from now on. No doubt all week will be hours of ads & programs of'underbelly' and Carl Williams docos rehashed again!! Where's Jane to solve the crime when you need him...
Really, Really disappointed tonight to have episode of Mentalist cancelled for "Baby faced Killer (Carl Williams)". I refuse to glorify or give any homage to that criminal. It seems we are paying tribute to him today? What is going on? I realise that the "Underbelly" series is a huge success for Channel 9, but I haven't watched any of the series as I find it offensive and glorifying to the whole gangworld, and certainly not appropriate for family viewing!! Sorry - just my opinion. And tonight, unfortunately, when I would usually be glued to Simon Baker and the Mentalist - I have now switched stations because I just can't stand to watch Carl Williams stuff. I miss the Mentalist... Regards (sadly missing Simon) Sharon
GOD DAMNIT CHANNEL NINE! YOUR TOURTURING ME finally, a new episode is due to air of the mentalist, but noooooooo some gangland git dies and they simply HAVE to play a biography on him, replacing the mentalist. apparientally they just couldn't bare the possibility of letting go of one of the two CSI miami episodes
Disappointed that Mentalist has been cancelled on 19th April, to make way for a Special on Carl Williams. Why is there fascination on criminals and the 'underbelly' lowlifes ? I won't be watching channel 9 tonite !
The mentalist re runs are better than 20 to 1 and the 20 to 1 re runs
What is it with channel nine lately ????.....We just get the new season of The Mentalist start and next we are watching repeats...if its not re runs of Two and a half men its taking off good shows like Drop Dead Diva...and while Im here you showed one episode of The Vampire Diaires and then it too disappeared.....What if I dont yet have a set top box to get channel 99??? Come on channel nine,no wonder 7 is my new number one channel...you giveth and then taketh too much away lol
Why are we getting a repeat alreaady? i thought this was a new season!
