Carmen, Melbourne, Victoria

Age: 44
Hometown: Melbourne, Victoria
Relationship status: single

"I've lost everything. Even my house is gone. This is my chance to get it all back — and more."

Originally from the former Yugoslavia, Carmen moved to Australia when she was young and grew up in the tough neighbourhood of Glenroy in Victoria. Carmen has always been determined to find a better future.

Carmen has been an entrepreneur her whole life and has run her own businesses for the past 20 years. For the last three years, she has been focusing on her business Super Leaders Australia, which is a hub of information for up-and-coming leaders.

Money has been the focus of her world, particularly given her poor upbringing. Carmen is currently bankrupt. She lost everything, including her house but she's refused to play the victim role and says this failure will make a "great story one day".

She is highly competitive and a bad loser. She doesn't like to lose at anything and admits to not being great at working in teams. She likes to do things her way and feels that others around her can't keep up. But she's great at handling conflict, and will deal with it straightaway and move forward.

Carmen believes she has the tenacity and perseverance to win The Apprentice and she wants to be the face of an organisation.

Carmen was wearing a large silver ring in a rose design for a lot of the show. I love this ring. I would love to know wher she got it. I've got to have one. If you saw the show you know which one I'm talking about.
carmen, i just want to say i think you did a fantastic job in the series. you are a hard worker, and you make sure the job is up to a good standard. im glad you confronted gavin on the clashes you were having with him, as you saw it was important to get on with the team. wish you all the best in the future carmen!
Carmen wasnt to bad,, What i didnt like was all the bossing around, was a bit to much, Apart from that shes a nice lady.
I am so glad Carmen has gone... she was a bully and very domeneering. Every week she was clashing with someone and arguing all the time. She was by no means a team player and I found her to be very arrognant. In the end her ego was to big for her personality and Mr Bouris made the right choice in firing her
Hi Carmen, all the best but it was your time to go.
Carmen, remember you have a team, you are not a one man band. I believe you should have worked with your team to obtain the best possible outcome for the customer. You let your team down with your behaviour and attitude, remember when you team lead another time Mr B mentioned behaving a certain way can be perceived as aggressrive. Mr B was right, I thought you would have worked on this. I hope you get fired.
Carmen clashed with someone on every challenge. Is she really a team player or even a leader?? I agree she is passionate & driven, but aggro isn't always the way to go! And please stop bleaching that hair!!
Just finishing today's show. Have to convinced that Mark was right, you failed today's task, as a leader. But Carmen, you did not lose everything, I believe your children are pround of you and welcome you home... Even Gavin stayed finally, but Mark knew the "Tricks" of Gavin and warned him. So Carmen, be tough, for you and for your children. and your fans are standing on your sid, includes Mary..
I am currently watching you in the show now, and although I admire your determination I have to say, in this world, you will go further if you let go of your ego just one little bit. Watching you and Gavin going through the power struggle tells me one thing, that Gavin will win over people's hearts just because he's cooler than you. In a team environment you cannot afford to lose your team's loyalty. You will always work with people who you cannot get along with. You say that you are a bad loser, you are, but if you calm down and concentrate on each person's strengths and utilise that (that is what the PM is for). As with anything, you need to listen to your team. Brush aside the ego, it's very hard to do, but if there is something that you need to learn from all this, you must learn this if you are to get ahead. BTW, Gavin is definitely playing you, and because you were so emotional he got the upper hand because he was calmer. Good luck Carmen, I like you better than Gavin.
Carmen, I am also a single mother of two, I know the constant challenges in trying to keep it all together for yourself and for your children. When I read you lost everything I really felt for you, I don't know that I would have been as brave as you if I were in the same situation. I hope something good comes your way, winning the show would be a great new start for you, chin up and keep moving forward in the direction you are going, I am sure Mr. Bouris sees the fight in you! you are truly an inspiration for other battling single mums out there. I also read that you are doing some volunteer work with a group of disabled people, very selfless! I don't know how you do it when you have so little... I am a dedicated fan of the show and now you! Good luck.
